Escrevendo a equação na fórmula canónica, e usando a fórmula resolvente, vem:

$$x^{2}=2(4-x) \Leftrightarrow x^{2}=8-2 x \Leftrightarrow x^{2}+2 x-8=0 \Leftrightarrow$$

$(a=1, b=2$ e $c=-8)$

$$\begin{gathered}\Leftrightarrow x=\frac{-2 \pm \sqrt{2^{2}-4(1)(-8)}}{2(1)} \Leftrightarrow x=\frac{-2 \pm \sqrt{4+32}}{2} \Leftrightarrow x=\frac{-2 \pm \sqrt{36}}{2} \Leftrightarrow \\Leftrightarrow x=\frac{-2+6}{2} \vee x=\frac{-2-6}{2} \Leftrightarrow x=\frac{4}{2} \vee x=\frac{-8}{2} \Leftrightarrow x=2 \vee x=-4\end{gathered}$$
